If you are lucky enough to have a garden, make the most of it!

Or maybe you have a balcony, yard, patio or even a single window box; still make the most of it! How easy it is for us to take so much in our lives for granted. This period of lock down presents us with the opportunity to register all of the wonderful things we have in our lives that we have been taking for granted every day.

With garden centers reopening in the UK this week it is a good opportunity for us to make the most of what outside space we have. Gardening in itself is a fruitful form of exercise; you don’t have to like doing aerobics, dance, or running, for example, to experience the benefits of exercising. Gardening utilizes many muscle groups and can burn up to 500 calories per hour. When you are gardening, become aware of your posture. It can be easy to strain back muscles by excessively reaching and twisting whilst not engaging the core muscles for support. Gardening can also be very mindful and produces a real feeling of success as well as an aesthetically pleasing outside space.
